El Nino 2011 Staff

Each year, SWAT recruits responsible, experienced staff for our El Nino 2011 trip to Utah. The SWAT Staff serves as a direct reflection of the company to the students, teachers, parents, and the communities in which our trips take place. Therefore, we choose our staff carefully and expect all staff to perform the tasks they are responsible for in a professional and careful manner. SWAT has a ratio of 1 Staff for every 20 students, which is one of the best in the industry. The minimum age of our chaperones is 21 years old, with an average age of 25. We use staff that has had previous experience with students (e.g teachers, coaches, youth counselors, city recreation leaders, etc). All of our staff members must apply with our company, submit references, and are required to attend a mandatory training seminar.

Responsibilities of SWAT Staff include, but are not limited to:
• Uphold ALL rules and regulations set by SWAT
• Attend a mandatory training seminar prior to the trip
• Manage the bus of students during the ride to and from Utah. This includes checking students in at departure, enforcing the rules and regulations, taking roll every time the bus is unloaded and loaded, communicating with SWAT coordinators in Utah & keeping the bus clean.
• Attend all meetings in Utah
• Sign-up for staff shifts in Utah, such as Shuttles, 24 hour room, concert staff, etc.
• Complete room checks each night at curfew
• Accompany students to and from the mountain daily

To complete an application, please visit our Tools and Forms section and fill out the Staff Application. Someone from our Operations Department will get back to you as the trip approaches.
