Parent Info

Welcome

Dear Parents,

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for considering Summer Winter Action Tours (SWAT) as the tour operator with which your student will travel during his or her winter break. SWAT was created in 1997 by a group of professionals who share a passion for the student travel industry. Allowing your son or daughter to travel can be one of the most rewarding experiences for a parent as you watch him or her grow into a responsible, well-rounded individual. Providing the opportunity for your student to experience new places as he or she meets new friends and makes the connections between classroom learning and “real life” is what student travel is all about.

As we enter our 15th year, we understand travel from both perspectives. Students want a package that's filled with fun, nonstop activities that are scheduled around their interests. Parents want to rest knowing that their children are well taken care of by an experienced and professional staff.

Throughout our website, you’ll find information about this year’s destination, the activities we provide and host for our travelers, and most importantly, information about our staff, security, and meidical teams. In the 14 years of our company’s history, we’ve successfully traveled well over 140,000 students – many of whom are returning customers on our collegiate level trips. SWAT prides itself on the highest level of customer satisfaction and is determined to ensure each student who travels with us has an experience unlike any other.

For more information, please visit our FAQ page or contact us by emailing info@swatup.com or calling our Customer Service Department at 866-714-7160. Our goal is to make certain that you have all the information you require and that any and all questions that you may have are answered.

Sincerely,

The SWAT Team

What is Included?

Your student’s trip includes lift tickets for skiing or snowboarding for 2 days, hotel accommodations in downtown Salt Lake City, round trip bus transportation , shuttles to and from the mountain daily, and exclusive day and night events and concerts. Students will be responsible for their own meals and may visit any of the nearby restaurants or chose to order food such as pizza and have it delivered to their hotel room.

Rules and Policies:

With 15 years of experience behind us, SWAT has developed a set of Rules and Policies that we pride ourselves on enforcing each year. These rules were developed to keep students safe while they enjoy a great vacation with their friends. Each traveler and their parent is required to sign a copy of the rules and regualtions prior to the trip. We ask that as parents, you help our staff and security enforce these rules with your student before they depart to Utah to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip.

Safety and Security:

Our trip is staffed and chaperoned by a staff comprised of three teams: SWAT volunteer chaperones, security teams, and medical personnel. Our SWAT staff is there to ensure the students are enjoying themselves, have all the comforts of home, and are doing well. Additionally, our staff runs all events, operations, and logistics to ensure the trip goes as planned and that all aspects of running a trip of this magnitude operate smoothly. Our private security team from Los Angeles, CA is on-site to provide students with added peace of mind in knowing that all events they attend are completely exclusive. Many members of our security are off-duty police officers and Sheriff’s department deputies. The medical personnel we employ are all fully licensed paramedics and EMTs. All members of our medical staff are active EMS employees and many work for Southern California region fire departments. In every hotel we occupy, SWAT has a “24-hour Room” which is used as an on-site office equipped with computers, fax, Internet access, landline and cellular phone access, and is also inter-connected with SWAT’s two-way radio communication system. Our staff works closely with local police and fire authorities to ensure that they too are closely connected to our trip and our students.
